Daily transactions in an agency pose a dire need for us to manage organizational records. Failure which, we cannot keep track of our work, work progress, financial matters as such, phone bills, electricity bills, water bills, internet bills, supplier credit, customer credit which will affect organizational operations. More so in ,managing and keeping track of personal records. It is the personal attitude and social culture by which we can start with managing and keeping our records regardless of personal or official recordd. We begin to realize these when something occurs for instance, litigation, claims, quarterly audit and so on so forth. We begin to regret for not keeping and manage records properly according to existing laws and act and the records management principles itself when records are scattered, lost, storage is full of records and other materials, work progress is slow, customer complains of slow response of request and feedbacks.
Sooner or later we will be faced with unnecessarily a daunting task of searching and finding our personal and organizational records as well. Till when we want to wait for something to happen before we change attitude and look for knowledge and skills, understanding and reasons in order to manage records properly.
